Description
The new school is a steel frame construction on strip footing with a precast concrete gym core. There were also 8 modular classroom units adjoined the building that were placed on screw piles and grade beams. The schedule was extremely tight but was achieved with good trade communication and on-site coordination. This project targeted and achieved LEED Silver Certification and was completed in 14 months of construction, on-time and one of the only new school projects in Alberta to achieve this milestone. Due to the prime example of the success that can occur when all parties work together, this project is being used as a blueprint for a second duplicated school in the neighborhood.
