Description

The scope of work was a Design Build project to completely abate, deconstruct, and modernize 33,000 sq. ft of chemistry lab space including completely new HVAC, lab casework, fume hoods, flooring, finishes, and all electrical on floors 3,4, and 5 of the Chemistry West Building.  The areas included new chemical research laboratory facilities as well as administrative office, break-away spaces, meeting rooms, and functional lab write-up spaces.

A key component of the lab modernizations was to provide 57 ultra-low flow fumehoods to provide significant energy savings to the University through reducing building air volume requirements.  These Chemistry Lab floors have been used as a laboratory modernization showcase for the University of Alberta Chemistry and other Departments.
